Driver’s death sparks confusion among auto-rickshaw workers

Agartala, 10^th January 2025:   The body of a driver was found late Thursday night under the Sabroom-Agartala Jalefa Amtali Bridge, covered in blood causing a stir among local auto workers. The incident has left many wondering whether it was an accident or a murder.

The Sabroom fire brigade was alerted around 10:58 PM and promptly arrived to rescue the man, transporting him to the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital. Dr. Pritam Das, the on-duty physician confirmed the man’s death upon arrival noting blood coming from his nose and ears despite no visible injuries.

Identified as Ranjit Debnath (50), a resident of Purba Jalefa village, Panchayat, the deceased was a driver by profession. The Sabroom police station’s Sub-Inspector stated that a thorough investigation into the cause of death will be conducted
