Centre transfers Rs 1,225.04 crore to Tripura

Agartala, 10th January 2025:   In a significant move to boost capital expenditure and support welfare programs across the country, the Central Government has transferred Rs 1,73,030 crore in tax revenue to State Governments. The announcement was made today in a statement issued by the Union Finance Ministry. This initiative aims to accelerate state-level development projects and welfare-related expenditure, underscoring the Centre’s commitment to strengthening federal fiscal management. 

“This transfer reflects our dedication to ensuring that states have the financial resources required for their growth and welfare programs. The increase from Rs 89,086 crore transferred in December last year demonstrates our commitment to empowering states,” the Finance Ministry’s statement emphasized. 

Highlighting the northeastern states’ developmental needs, the Ministry revealed that Assam received Rs 5,412.38 crore, Arunachal Pradesh Rs 3,040.14 crore, and Tripura Rs 1,225.04 crore. “The funds are a testament to the government’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in historically underserved regions,” a senior official remarked.
