Agartala, 14th January 2025:   A brutal incident of violence has come to light in the Barajala Kalyanpur area, where a rickshaw driver, Srinath Ghosh, and his family were allegedly attacked by BJP miscreants. The family filed a complaint at the Ramnagar outpost, accusing three individuals, identified as Samir Namashudra, Ranjit Shil, and Raju Biswas, of perpetrating the attack.

According to reports, the miscreants set fire to Srinath Ghosh’s rickshaw late last night. When Srinath’s son, Prabir Ghosh, confronted the attackers, he was met with threats and witnessed his mother and sisters being abused at home.

In the early hours of this morning, Prabir Ghosh went to file a case at the Ramnagar outpost. On his return, he was reportedly attacked again by the same individuals. The accused allegedly struck Prabir on the head with a stick. When Srinath Ghosh tried to intervene, he was also assaulted and sustained injuries to his leg.

The family has further alleged that the attackers attempted to molest Srinath’s wife and daughters, causing injuries to the latter on their head and legs.

The police have since arrested the accused—Sameer Namashudra, Ranjit Shil, and Raju Biswas—after the complaint was filed. However, the family claims that the area’s BJP booth president, Chandan Sarkar, has been backing these miscreants, enabling their violent actions.

As of now, Srinath Ghosh and his family remain in a state of fear, uncertain of their safety even within their own home. They have urged authorities to take strict action to ensure justice and protection.

The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, with residents demanding accountability and a safe environment for all.
