Agartala, 23rd January 2025:   The 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Sonamura, marking the return of a tableau display after a long hiatus of ten years. The event was organized through a collaborative effort by the Sonamura Nagar Panchayat and the Subdivisional Administration in conjunction with the nationwide celebrations.

The day’s festivities began with a morning ferry in the town area, setting the tone for a day of remembrance and reverence. At 10 AM, a solemn ceremony took place in front of the Sonamura Nagar Panchayat, where garlands were placed on the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Nagar Panchayat Chairman Sharda Chakraborty, SDM MK Chakma, Nagar Panchayat Vice Chairman Shahajan Mia, Nagar Panchayat Welfare Officer Prabir Saha and other guests were present.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the revival of the tableau display, an initiative driven by Subdivision Administrator MK Chakma. After a decade-long gap, the tableau display featured the participation of eight schools from the city. The students used the platform to bring attention to various social issues, such as child marriage and mobile addiction, through their creative presentations.

A total of eight vehicles were utilized in the tableau, which was made possible with the support of Sonamura BMS, providing the vehicles free of charge. The colorful and impactful displays were well-received by the community, adding a vibrant and meaningful dimension to the celebration.
