Agartala, 23rd January 2025: A housewife was brutally attacked and had her head shaved in broad daylight in front of her young child at Lalsinghmura Manipuri Para. The Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station promptly responded to the scene, rescuing the victim and bringing her to the police station along with her hair.
This incident has raised serious questions about the state’s commitment to women’s safety, despite its “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign. The woman was attacked in the absence of her husband over a minor financial dispute, severely beaten and confined to her house.
