Body Recovered from River in Ambassa, Police Investigating

Agartala, 23rd February 2025:   A man’s body was recovered from the river in the Harin Chhara area on Sunday morning, causing panic among the locals. The deceased has been identified as Dhanjoy Tripura, approximately 45 years old, a resident of Harin Chhara under Ambassa Police Station.

According to reports, the body was first spotted by locals, who immediately informed the Ambassa Police Station and the Ambassa Fire Department. Upon receiving the information, fire department personnel rushed to the scene and recovered the body. It was then taken to Dhalai District Hospital in Kulai, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Sources said that the deceased had been living at his daughter’s house. On Saturday evening, he reportedly consumed alcohol with his son-in-law, following which he went missing. His body was discovered the next morning.

The Ambassa police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Further details are awaited.
