Agartala, 24th February 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister and incumbent Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Committee on Absence of Members from the Sittings of the House.
This marks a significant milestone as he becomes the first MP from Tripura to head a parliamentary committee. The committee has been constituted by the Speaker will monitor and report on the absence of members in the Lok Sabha. Deb’s appointment is seen as a recognition of his growing role in national politics.
