Three arrested with Yaba tablets worth Rs 5 Crore in Agartala

Agartala, 6th March 2025:  Tripura Police arrested three individuals and seized yaba tablets worth over ₹5 crore during a raid in the Maheskhala area of Agartala in the early hours of Thursday.

West District Superintendent of Police, Kiran Kumar, stated that the raid was conducted following specific intelligence inputs about a large stockpile of contraband at the residence of one Md Babul Miah (45).

“Acting on a tip-off, the West Agartala Police Station team raided his house and recovered 1.06 lakh yaba tablets valued at around ₹5 crore in the illicit market. Along with Babul Miah, two other individuals, Sanjay Miah (42) and Sipan Hossein (26), have been arrested. Several mobile phones and bikes were also seized. A case has been registered, and the accused will be presented before the court,” he said.

The SP further highlighted that Tripura Police have intensified their crackdown on drug-related activities in Agartala. Over the past week alone, 10 cases have been registered, leading to the arrest of 21 individuals. Authorities have confiscated 369 kg of cannabis, 2,017 bottles of cough syrup, 66 grams of heroin, and 1.06 lakh yaba tablets during the ongoing special drive.
