Police Seize Vehicle Transporting Burmese Cows Illegally

Agartala, 6th March 2025:  In a major crackdown on illegal cattle transportation, Tripura Police seized a vehicle carrying five Burmese cows late Wednesday night. The operation took place at the Anandabazar Naka checking point, where a suspicious freight vehicle bearing registration number TR-05G-1794 was intercepted.

According to police sources, as soon as the vehicle was stopped, the driver fled the scene, abandoning the truck. Upon inspection, law enforcement officials discovered five Burmese cows being transported illegally in the vehicle.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dharmanagar police station confirmed the seizure and stated that a case has been registered against the driver and the owner of the cattle under specific legal provisions. Authorities have launched an investigation to apprehend the accused and determine the source and intended destination of the cattle.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to curbing illegal cattle smuggling and urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to animal trafficking.
