IFS officer jumps to death in Delhi, no suicide note found

An Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer jumped to his death from a building in the Chanakyapuri area here on Friday, police said.

According to the Delhi Police, the victim has been identified as Jitendra Rawat.

The police said that no suicide note has been found from the spot.

It is being said that the IFS officer was upset for the last few days.

Police are investigating the case from various angles.

The Ministry of External Affairs in a statement on the death, said that it is providing all possible assistance to the family, and is in touch with the Delhi Police.

“The Ministry stands with the family in this hour of grief and difficulty,” it said.

“Further details are not being released bearing in mind the need to respect the family’s privacy in this time of bereavement,” it added.
