Budget session: “Uncivilised, undemocratic” people not committed to TN students: Dharmendra Pradhan

Date:

The proceedings of Lok Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon on Monday amid protest by the DMK over the issue of implementation of New Education Policy in Tamil Nadu.

The DMK MPs trooped into the well and protested over the issue.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged members to return to their seats, but as disruptions from the Opposition continued, the House was adjourned till 12 pm.

Responding to the New Education Policy and three language row, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “They are uncivilised, undemocratic people and not committed to the Tamil Nadu students. They are ruining their future. They are dishonest to the people of Tamil Nadu.”

The Budget Session of Parliament resumed on Monday after a recess, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urging political parties to ensure the smooth functioning of Question Hour.

During a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee, Birla emphasized the importance of an uninterrupted Question Hour, he said.

As per the Lok Sabha’s agenda, several bills and reports from standing committees will be tabled. Both the Houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were last adjourned on February 13, concluding the first leg of the session.
