Electricity Dept Employee Critically Injured After Electrocution

Agartala, 6th April 2025:   A senior employee of the Electricity Department, Tapas Das, was critically injured after being electrocuted while repairing a power line near IGM Hospital in the Chaumuhani today. According to sources, Das, who has over 10 years of experience in the department, was working on a live wire under the assumption that the main power supply had been turned off. He had reportedly instructed his colleague to cut off the power before beginning the repairs.

However, due to alleged negligence, the switch remained on, leading to a severe electric shock. Das was immediately rescued by fellow workers and rushed to a hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have described his condition as critical. His wife stated that his body is completely stiff, and he is unable to move his limbs. The incident has sparked concern and unrest within the Electricity Department. Colleagues of Tapas Das have demanded a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the mishap and hold those responsible accountable.
