Agartala, 11th April 2025: In a dramatic demonstration against months of unpaid wages, workers in the Shilachari block area staged a protest under the scorching sun today, demanding immediate action from the authorities.
According to a worker participating in the protest, wages have not been disbursed for the last four months despite repeated appeals to the local panchayat. Frustrated by the lack of action, they resorted to blocking streets this morning to draw attention to their plight.
Upon receiving news of the protest, senior panchayat officials arrived at the scene and engaged in discussions with the demonstrators. They assured the workers that the issue would be resolved promptly. Following these assurances, the protesters temporarily called off their demonstration.
