Agartala, 10th April 2025: A moment of spiritual significance marked Khowai on Thursday as the town witnessed the grand inauguration of its first-ever Hanuman temple. Located in the Char Ganaki area, east of Khowai Airport, the temple was inaugurated with elaborate rituals and a large turnout of devotees.
The inauguration ceremony began at 10 AM with traditional water-filling rituals and prayers. Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Field Organization Minister, Dr. Dinesh Tewari, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The temple stands on land generously donated by well-known social worker Abhijit Dutt Bhowmik.
Constructed over a period of one year at a cost of approximately ₹18 lakh, the temple features a beautifully sculpted Hanuman idol made of white stone. The construction was made possible through contributions from numerous local devotees, reflecting strong community support and devotion.
Speaking to the press, members of the temple committee shared that the road leading to the temple has now been officially named Char Ganaki Hanuman Mandir Road in honor of the new shrine.
Since the morning, thousands of devotees gathered at the temple to offer prayers and receive prasad. As part of the inaugural celebrations, evening events will include Hanuman Chalisa Path, devotional bhajans, and kirtans in the temple premises, turning the occasion into a spiritual festival for the entire region.
