Five teachers fell sick during indefinite hunger strike

Agartala: October 21. At least five teachers among the agitating 10, 323 fell sick during their indefinite hunger strike. Among these five two fell seriously ill were admitted to IGM Hospital. Both were taken to IGM Hospital by ambulance as their condition was critical.

The five teachers who fell ill today are Pranajit Bhowmik, Mithalibala Debbarma, Arabind Sharma, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Bidhan Das. However, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Bidhan Das were sent to IGM Hospital by ambulance as their physical condition was critical. In this regard, dismissed teacher Pradip Banik said that before going on hunger strike, West District Magistrate, SDM, CMO and District Health Officer including other administrative officials were informed.

 But it has been made clear that no cooperation can be done from all of them. He said that he is witnessing this inhuman thing while sitting on the hunger strike stage. He also said that on the second day of the program, the police of West Police Station tried to remove them from the stage twice. He warned that the agitation will continue until the government takes a decision to reinstate them.
