Family feud at Melaghar, husband attacks wife and in-laws

Agartala: October 21, 2022: An incident of family feud has been reported at Poangbari Ward no. 2 in Melaghar area where son-in-law and his relatives attacked his in-laws along with his wife on Thursday last.

It is learnt that seven years back from today, Subrata Das’ sister Sonai Das of Melaghar Poangbari Ward No. 2 got married to Agartala’s Panchmukh Biswajit Das. Sonai Das alleged that her husband and her in-laws beat her and her husband does not do any work. Alleging that Sonai Das left her husband’s house four months back with her little daughter and moved to her father’s house in Melaghar Poangbari area.

Biswajit Das, husband of Sonay Das, without any inquiry for four months, suddenly yesterday, uncle of Biswajit Das’s Melaghar Master Para, Khokon Barman and his two sons, along with Biswajit Das himself, came to his father-in-law’s house and forcibly picked up Sonai Das’ little daughter in the car. Khokon Burman, his two sons and husband Biswajit Das attacked Sonai Das and her family.

In their attack, Sonai Das along with her parents and her younger brother Subrata Das were injured. In the end, the Melaghar fire service vehicle went and brought the injured to the Melaghar hospital. Currently they are undergoing treatment at Melaghar Hospital. In this regard Sonai Das and her family filed a written case with Melaghar police station against Khokon Barman and his two sons along with her husband Biswajit Das.
