Agartala, 16th April 2025:   In a frustration over prolonged water scarcity, villagers in the Noyabari area of Udaipur subdivision staged a road blockade on the Killa-Udaipur road early this morning. The protest brought traffic to a grinding halt, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.

According to locals, the locality has been grappling with a severe drinking water shortage for an extended period. “We have repeatedly pleaded with the administration to address this critical issue, but no action has been taken,” lamented a resident. The lack of response compelled the villagers to resort to the blockade, demanding immediate intervention.

The protest disrupted vehicular movement, leaving commuters stranded. “The situation was quite difficult. We were stuck for hours with no idea when the road would reopen,” shared a distressed traveler.

On learning about the protest, senior officials from the administration rushed to the scene. After engaging with the protesters and assuring swift action to resolve the water supply crisis, the villagers agreed to lift the blockade.
