Revenge: Poor farmers’ teak trees destroyed

Agartala Oct 23: In a dreadful act of political revenge, at least 78 teak trees of a poor farmer was cut down by miscreants in the dark of night.The incident was reported from Khamarbari area of Haralia village panchayat in Charilam block.

According to the details, Sunday morning on reaching his farm land, poor farmer Shital Sarkar broke down into tears as majority of his trees were cut down by miscreants.He said, “I planted 125 teak trees a year ago by spending Rs 20,000-25,000”.Reportedly, BJP backed miscreants had destroyed Shital Sarkar’s trees for supporting the opposition CPI-M.
