Bangladesh will sign security cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia

Bangladesh is going to sign a security cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia. The agreement is expected to be signed during Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Interior Minister Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Dawood’s visit to Dhaka next month.

Saudi Ambassador to Dhaka Isa Bin Yusuf Al Duhailan said this after a meeting with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday (October 26).

He said, I am trying tirelessly to take the relationship forward. I hope—it will be a good visit.

When asked what agreement can be reached during the visit, he said that there will be a security cooperation agreement.

When asked what will be included in that agreement, he said, information supply, data verification – these things will be there. 2.6 million Bangladeshis live in Saudi Arabia. It is our responsibility to ensure their safety.

When asked about this, the foreign minister told reporters that there will be a security agreement with Saudi Arabia. It is very good. We are with it. The Home Ministry is looking into the matter.
