Scientific training on horticulture to farmers held

Agartala, 27th April 2025:  Basix Krishi Samruddhi Limited (BKSL) a national level organization working for agri-based livelihood promotion has conducted a training program on 24th April 2025 focusing on “Modern Technologies of Horticulture” at Dayarampara ADC Village, Near Ujan Golaghati High School, Jampuijala RD. Block, Sepahijala district, Tripura.

Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Dimapur, Nagaland under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India has supported to organize the training. BKSL and CIH are putting efforts to strengthen the overall farming skills of the farmers by adopting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), sustainable farming, value addition at local level and exploring alternate markets for better price realization.

 In the training program, 50 farmers participated from Jampuijala RD. Block with the action plan to implement the new learnings in their field. The farmers trained on Agar plantation, Honey Bee culture, Mushroom, Coconut, Sapri Banana plantation, homemade organic manure, pest & disease control, Fish culture. 3 Nos. of Farmers Producer Company Limited (FPO) & cooperative societies is supporting these farmers to aggregate the produce for bulk selling

. As a Resource Person there are presences Mr. Khokan Roy, Retired Dy. Director of Horticulture, Govt. of Tripura and Mr. Suman Paul, Project Associate, Department of Botany, Tripura University.  This training will help the farmers and the FPO for better productivity with better price realization along with achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
