Lenin’s portrait set on fire, CPI-M stages protest, police detains party activists

Agartala Nov 07: Along with the entire nation, Tripura CPI-M also celebrated November Revolution Day in the state with due dignity. November Revolution Day was celebrated by the CPI-M party activists across the Khowai sub-division.

However, the celebration later turned into protests as the campaign materials including Lenin’s portrait was destroyed and set on fire by miscreants. Protesting against this, the left activists blocked the Agartala-Khowai road at Tant Chowmani area.

Party leaders and activists alleged that miscreants backed by the ruling party vandalized party’s campaign materials and also burnt Lenin’s portrait.Large police force later reached the spot and arrested all the agitators. However, no miscreants were arrested by police in connection to the incident.
