CM Dr Manik Saha inaugurates Seminar on “Industrial Disaster Risk Management”

Agartala Nov 09: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly with Revenue Department, Government of Tripura organized a 2-day conference on “Industrial Disaster Risk Management” in Agartala with the theme, “Focus on identifying system and seismic risks, pipeline security and resilience of critical infrastructure”.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha opened the conference at the Pragna Bhavan in presence of N Bose Babu, Co-Chairman FICCI Committee on Disaster Management, Dr Manas Kumar Sharma, Director, Oil India Limited, Puneet Agarwal, Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, Govt of Tripura, J K Sinha, Chief Secretary, Govt of Tripura who also remained present on the occasion.

While addressing the conference, chief minister Dr Manik Saha said, “Prevention is better than cure and this is the reason why this conference is important as it will prove to be very beneficial for awareness and safety among people”.He further added, “Tripura is vulnerable to natural calamities and disasters like earthquakes. But with pre-exercise, less damage can be expected like that of Cyclone Sitrang that hit Tripura few days ago”.The first day of the conference discussed various important topics related to prevention, preparedness and best practices for ensuring safety.Addressing the conference the dignitaries dtressed that following safety measures is important and everyone should follow it.
