Karbook ex-MLA Burba Mohan Tripura passes away, tributes pour in from state leadership

Agartala, 10th May 2025:  Former MLA of Karbook assembly constituency Burba Mohan Tripura (80) passed away leaving the state in mourning. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha and several ministers and MLAs expressed deep grief over his demise and paid floral tributes to his mortal remains at the State Assembly premises this morning.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha took to social media to express his condolences. “I am deeply saddened by his demise. I pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul and pray to God to give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this loss,” he wrote.

Minister Ratan Lal Nath also expressed sorrow on social media, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of former state MLA and one-time colleague Burb Mohan Tripura. My condolences to his bereaved family. May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest.”

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, AMC Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, and other colleagues joined in paying their last respects, laying floral wreaths as a mark of tribute. The presence of legislators and senior leaders at the Assembly premises reflected the respect and admiration Burba Mohan Tripura commanded throughout his political career.
