Tripura’s CBSE Performance Leaps with Vidya Jyoti Scheme at the Forefront

Agartala, 14th May 2025:  Tripura has witnessed a remarkable improvement in this year’s CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examination results, with a significant rise in pass percentages and notable performances from schools under the Vidya Jyoti scheme.

Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat today, Special Secretary of the Education Department Raval Hemendra Kumar announced that the state’s Class 10 pass percentage has surged to 86 percent — a 26 percent increase from last year. Impressively, 15 Vidya Jyoti schools secured a 100 percent pass rate in Class 10, up from just one last year. Among these, 12 are Bengali-medium schools and three are English-medium.

Kumar further informed that 66 schools recorded pass percentages above 90 percent in Class 10 — a sharp rise from only five last year. Another 81 schools surpassed the 81 percent mark, while only five schools registered pass rates below 57 percent. The supplementary category comprises just 13.5 percent of Class 10 students.

Suraj Basu of Belonia Government English Medium School emerged as the Class 10 state topper, scoring an outstanding 496 marks (99.2%).

District-wise, the Class 10 pass rates are as follows South Tripura: 92%, Khowai: 89%, Unakoti and Sepahijala: 88% each, North Tripura: 87%, Gomati: 86%, Dhalai: 84% and West Tripura: 82%

For Class 12, the state has achieved a 71 percent pass rate — an increase of 21 percent from last year. Five Vidya Jyoti schools secured 100 percent results, with three Bengali and two English medium institutions among them. Last year, no Vidya Jyoti school reached this milestone.

The number of schools achieving over 90 percent pass rate in Class 12 has risen to 25 from just two last year. A total of 69 schools surpassed the overall average pass percentage of 71 percent.

Tapeshwar Pal of Shishu Bihar School topped the state in Class 12 with 491 marks (98.2%).

District-wise Class 12 pass percentages are North Tripura: 85%, Dhalai: 84%, Unakoti: 81.3%, Khowai: 80.8%, South Tripura: 77.7%, West Tripura: 72.2%, Gomati: 51%, Sepahijala: 47.9%
