Madhupur CPIM workers express frustration over Panchayat deputation process

Agartala, 16th May 2025:  CPIM workers voiced their frustration today after attempting to submit deputation papers across three panchayats in the Kamalasagar assembly constituency citing a lack of key personnel and an unresponsive administrative system.

Led by the Madhupur local committee, the workers presented demands concerning local development in Madhupur Panchayat, South Madhupur Panchayat, and Lembutuli Panchayat. However, their efforts were met with obstacles, as the required officials were absent from all three locations.

Sepahijala district committee member Hiranmoy Narayan Debnath, Madhupur local secretary Jhutan Roy, divisional committee member Satyendra Deb and local member Kamal Bhowmik were among those present during the deputation process. Their frustration mounted after they were forced to hand over their documents to Group D employees instead of designated officials.

Debnath criticized the current administration, highlighting the scarcity of workers in local panchayats. “People are struggling to access essential services due to the severe lack of staff,” he said. He further emphasized the declining availability of MGNREGA work stating, “Previously, 100 days of work were promised per year. Now, barely 30 days are granted.”

CPIM leaders also demanded urgent infrastructure improvements, including the installation of LI machines and water pumps to aid farmers and the swift repair of deteriorating roads in various areas. “If our demands are ignored, we will intensify our movement in the coming days,” Debnath warned.
