Agartala, 26th May 2025:   Pradesh Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman today accused various regional and political parties of using Tripura’s tribal community for their own interests. At a joining event held at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan here, Barman emphasized that only the Congress has consistently worked toward the development of tribal communities in the state.

Barman highlighted past Congress-led initiatives aimed at tribal welfare, asserting that the party remains committed to addressing their current demands. “Development of the tribal community is never possible without the Congress,” he remarked, alleging that all other political entities have merely played with tribal aspirations rather than genuinely working for their progress.

During the event, 42 voters from 11 families, nine previously affiliated with the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) and two from Tipra Motha formally joined the Tripura Pradesh Congress Party. The new members hailing from the Takarjala assembly constituency were welcomed by Pradesh Congress President Asish Kumar Saha, who presented them with the party flag.
