Two arrested for mobile snatching at knifepoint in Mohanpur

Agartala, 27th May 2025:    Sidhai Police Station staff arrested two suspects yesterday in connection with the robbery of a woman’s mobile phone at knifepoint on a road in Boalia, Mohanpur. 

The accused identified as Khasrang Debbarma and Mihir Debbarma were arrested at their respective residences in Hejamara Subal Singh Pahar area yesterday evening. According to officials, one resides in Balurband, while the other lives in Bharat Chowdhury Village within Subal Singh Pahar. 

During the investigation, police recovered two stolen mobile phones—one belonging to the victim and another taken from a separate robbery in Mohanpur. Authorities also seized a motorcycle allegedly used in the crime. 

The robbery took place on May 24 prompting the woman to file a complaint with Sidhai Police Station leading to the police inquiry. 

Speaking on the arrests, Officer-in-Charge Mungesh Patari stated that both suspects were produced in court today. Police continue their probe to determine whether the individuals are linked to any other criminal activities in the region.
