Agartala, 10th June 2025:    Tipra Motha Party founder and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has reiterated his unwavering stance on the implementation of the Tiprasa accord, asserting that he would rather relinquish power than remain in government without honoring promises made to indigenous communities.

Taking to his official Facebook account on Tuesday, Debbarman emphasized that the party joined the ruling alliance based on the central government’s assurance to fulfill the accord. “Our loyalty lies with the people who placed their trust in us. If I cannot deliver on the commitments, I do not deserve to hold office,” he stated, revealing that he has already conveyed this position to Tipra Motha ministers and a majority of party MLAs.

Expressing frustration over prolonged delays, Debbarman noted that eighteen months have passed with little progress. While acknowledging that recent incidents, such as the Pahalgam terror attack, have diverted the Centre’s attention, he cautioned that a growing sentiment of neglect is taking root. “Discussions in Delhi remain positive, but the absence of concrete action on the ground raises concerns,” he remarked.

In a move to address security challenges, Debbarman announced the impending launch of a dedicated helpline aimed at tackling illegal immigration from Bangladesh. The service will enable citizens to report suspicious cross-border movements directly to the party, which will collaborate with district authorities to initiate legal procedures.

Highlighting the need for vigilance, he urged the public to protect Tripura’s resources and land while refraining from taking matters into their own hands. Concluding his statement, Debbarman appealed to all communities in the state to rise above political divisions and prioritize collective welfare.
