Assam Rifles and Tripura Police destroys large scale Ganja plantation

Agartala, 6th December 2022: Based on a specific input of Assam Rifles and Tripura Police of a large scale illegal Ganjaa plantation in an approx area of 25-30 acres of forest land in Gen A Ramnagar, Sipahijala District near Indo Bangladesh Border.

 A Joint Operation was launched by 18 Assam Rifles of  21 Sector  and *Bishramganj PS of Tripura Police on 06 December 2022. Five Teams of Assam Rifles and one team of  Bishramganj PS comprising 01x SI, 01x  Hav, 05x Constable (incl 01x woman Constable) destroyed an approx 85,000 to 90,000 Marijuana plants cultivated over a large area of forest land of approx 25-30 acres.

The state police estimated the value of the destroyed plants to be about 50 to 60 Lakhs in market price. State Police is also investigating to identify the cultivators.
