1.20 lakh cannabis plants destroyed at Kalamchoura

Agartala, December 13. On the basis of secret information, state police, BSF and forest department personnel under Kalamchoura police station went to South Kalamchoura for conducting an ant-cannabis operation on Tuesday morning from 9 AM to 1 PM.

In this operation, 20-hectare of land where cannabis plantations were done have been destroyed. Today, raids are carried out by cutting down illegal cannabis plantations and setting them on fire. The operation was led by Kalamchoura Police Station OC Prashanta Kumar Dey and 150 Battalion BSF Company Commander Ashok Madhual Yogendra Yadav, along with a large contingent of BSF, police and Boxanagar forest department personnel.

On this day, 1 lakh 20 thousand illegal cannabis plants were destroyed in the operation, the market value of which is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore 20 lakh.

Kalamchoura police station OC Prashant Kumar Dey said that illegally grown cannabis cannot be entertained. However, the growing cannabis plants will be destroyed by police raids just before blooming of flower.
