Ajay Devgn announces ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ with unique video

Date:

Ajay Devgn has announced the commencement of shooting for Son Of Sardaar 2 with a unique video featuring Mrunal Thakur playing the dhol and his son, Yug Devgn, posing with the film’s clapboard.

The sequel to the hugely successful 2012 action-comedy Son Of Sardaar promises even more comedy, action, and entertainment.

The film, which has begun filming in the UK, was launched with traditional Punjabi dhol beats. Devgn shared the video on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “The journey of #SonOfSardaar2 begins with prayers, blessings, and an amazing team.” In the video, Devgn is seen offering prayers before starting the shoot, with his son Yug Devgan joining in the celebrations.

During the shoot, Devgn was spotted in a turban, exuding happiness, while Thakur, dressed in traditional Punjabi attire, played the dhol. The celebration was marked by lively dhol beats and dancing.

Sanjay Dutt, who was initially set to appear in the film, has been removed due to issues with obtaining a UK visa. He has been replaced by Ravi Kishan. Dutt’s visa complications were linked to his previous incarceration.

Dutt was arrested in April 1993 under TADA and the Arms Act for possessing illegal firearms related to the 1993 Bombay bombings. He was sentenced to five years in prison, with the Supreme Court upholding the sentence in March 2013. Dutt completed his full term and was released in 2016.

Son Of Sardaar 2 is presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, with Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande producing, and N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja serving as producers, along with Kumar Mangat Pathak as co-producer.
