Hombale Films commences final leg of shooting for ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’

Date:

The final leg of shooting for ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, from Hombale Films, officially started today.

A spiritual and cinematic predecessor to the 2022 sensation ‘Kantara’, this new chapter seeks to push the envelope of Indian storytelling and scale.

The final shooting schedule is currently unfolding approximately 20 km from the verdant terrains of Kundapura, Karnataka, as the project moves into its culminating stage.

Hombale Films is leaving no stone unturned in taking the legacy of this 2022 movie forward.

Previously, it has been reported that the makers curated an extensive war sequence for ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, which was crafted by national and international specialists. They hired over 500 skilled fighters for the sequence, curating a never-before-seen fight sequence. This power-packed sequence featured 3,000 people, making it one of the biggest sequences in the history of Indian Cinema.

To prepare for the role, actor-director Rishabh Shetty immersed himself in intensive training, mastering horseback riding, Kalaripayattu (India’s ancient martial art form) and swordsmanship for three months. Rishabh has put in all his efforts to make this powerful war sequence perfect.

The shoot took place in an expansive, real village nestled in the hills of Karnataka, spread across 25 acres, where Hombale Films has dedicated nearly 45-50 days of filming.

“Kantara: Chapter 1” is scheduled to release on October 2, 2025.
