10 Bangladeshi juveniles escape from Detention Centre

Date:

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 3rd October 2025 : A major security breach has rocked Tripura after ten Bangladeshi juveniles escaped from the Narsingarh Detention Centre in West Tripura district on the night of Maha Saptami.

Sources informed that all ten escapees were Bangladeshi nationals held at the facility in connection with various criminal cases. It is alleged that they took advantage of weak security arrangements and fled under the cover of darkness. Despite the seriousness of the incident, authorities have remained tight-lipped, raising questions about administrative lapses.

This escape comes close on the heels of a similar incident at the Dharmanagar Sub-Jail, where inmates had fled just days earlier. The back-to-back breaches have put the Tripura administration under intense scrutiny. Several quarters are now demanding strict disciplinary action against staff members of the Narsingarh Detention Centre for negligence.
