Agartala, 9th April 2026: With hopes of winning national medals and bringing pride to the state, 10 young badminton players from Tripura are all set to participate in the upcoming Under-17 National Badminton Tournament in Delhi, scheduled to begin on April 16. The team, comprising five boys and five girls, has been undergoing intensive training at the Ambassa Indoor Stadium in Dhalai district as part of their final preparations.
For the past five days, the players have been attending a residential training camp where they are practicing rigorously from morning till night. Under the supervision of coach and physical instructor Anal Baran Roy, the focus has been on enhancing both technical skills and physical fitness. The players have been putting in consistent effort, showing great dedication and determination to perform well at the national level.
The team representing Tripura includes Adrija Dey, Saina Chakraborty, Sudipta Chanda, Kathika Saha, Suhana Gupta, Iman Debbarma, Somenjit Roy, Prince Dutta, Shubham Biswas and Aniket Bhowmik. The squad will be led by coach Anal Baran Roy, while Shukla Malakar will accompany the team as manager. The players are scheduled to leave for Delhi on April 12.
Coach Anal Baran Ray expressed confidence that with proper training and the players’ determination, Tripura will achieve remarkable results at the national level this time. These talented players, who have emerged from the Ambassa Indoor Hall, are now eagerly looking forward to giving their best on the courts in Delhi.
