Agartala, 19th October 2025: Amid heightened security arrangements during the festive season, the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura Frontier, has strengthened surveillance along the Indo–Bangladesh border, leading to the apprehension of 21 illegal infiltrators from different parts of the state.
According to official sources, BSF troops, acting on specific intelligence inputs, conducted coordinated operations on October 19 and apprehended 11 Bangladeshi nationals and 10 Rohingya migrants from separate locations in Tripura.
“In one operation, BSF teams detected suspicious movement at Agartala Railway Station. Upon verification, 11 individuals were found to be Bangladeshi nationals who had illegally entered Indian territory and were attempting to travel further inland,” the BSF said in a statement.
In another incident in North Tripura district, alert BSF personnel intercepted a group of 10 Rohingya illegal migrants — including women and children — while they were attempting to cross over to Bangladesh.
“Preliminary questioning revealed that the Rohingyas had travelled from Delhi and Jammu and were trying to reach Moulvibazar in Bangladesh,” the BSF added.
Officials said the apprehensions highlight the BSF’s heightened vigilance and operational preparedness to curb illegal infiltration, human trafficking, and other cross-border crimes during the ongoing festive period.
