Agartala, 28th November 2024: The 199th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) observes 60th Foundation Day in Kailashahar on Thursday in a grand way. A series of education oriented was organised to commemorate its 60th Foundation Day. These initiatives aimed not only to honor the dedication of the border guards but also to instill patriotism, awareness, and the message of a healthy lifestyle among the local youth.
A group of 30 students and 2 teachers from a local school were invited to visit the Hirachhara and Maguruli border outposts. During the visit, they were informed about the history of the India-Bangladesh border and the responsibilities of the BSF. Additionally, a special weapons exhibition was held at the Hirachhara outpost, where students got a hands-on experience of the equipment used by the BSF.
A documentary showcasing the bravery and sacrifices of the border guards was screened at Hiracherra J B School in presence of teachers and students. Furthermore, a friendly volleyball match was also organized at Lathiyapura to spread the message of anti-drug awareness. The winning team was awarded a trophy.
The initiatives of the 199th Battalion BSF not only highlighted the significance of border security but also fostered patriotism, social responsibility, and enthusiasm for a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation. Local residents appreciated and praised the efforts of the BSF.
