13 Arrested in Connection with Multiple Disturbances Across Agartala

Agartala, 5th October 2025 :   In the aftermath of a series of violent disturbances across the capital city, police from Agartala West Police Station have arrested 13 individuals linked to multiple law and order violations. The arrests follow numerous complaints lodged at the station over the past few days.

Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee informed the media about the incidents, highlighting a violent altercation during Durga Puja festivities at City Centre. According to Chatterjee, the episode began when a man confronted a group allegedly harassing his wife, leading to his brutal assault.

In another case, a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel was reportedly attacked, along with several other disturbances that have raised concerns over public safety during the festive period.

“Based on these complaints, we have successfully apprehended 13 accused persons,” Chatterjee stated. “Four of them are currently in police remand and will be produced before the court once the remand period concludes. The remaining individuals, arrested yesterday, will be presented in court today for further investigation.”

Chatterjee further assured that the police are maintaining strict vigilance and taking swift action to ensure public safety and restore peace across the city.
