Agartala, 4th June 2025: A total of 13 Bangladeshi nationals, reportedly affiliated with the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS)—an outfit active in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh—were detained late Tuesday night from the Hapania area in West Tripura district.
The group consists of 11 men and two women.
Intelligence officials confirmed the detention, stating that the group was apprehended from a rented residence in Agartala’s Hapania locality by Tripura Police.
“We detained them late last night from a rented house. During preliminary questioning, they claimed to be members of the PCJSS. They reportedly entered Tripura six days ago seeking medical treatment,” an official said.
The official added that at least six among them had visible burn and cut injuries on their legs, which they claim to have sustained before their arrival in India.
The detained individuals have been identified as: Thuithui Mog (23), Angla Mog (35), Rumel Chakma (27), Aoj Chakma (30), Dravid Chakma (24), Ramen Chakma (24), Mik Chakma (28), Nirbhoy Chakma (27), Choice Chakma (21), Bitu Chakma (17), Kimon Chakma (22), Purna Chakma (24), and Nayanchi Mog (21).
