Agartala, 4th June 2025: In a move aimed at transforming Tripura into a hub of wellness and eco-tourism, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday announced a forthcoming collaboration with Patanjali Yogpeeth. The partnership will focus on promoting yoga, spiritual tourism, biodiversity, education, and holistic wellness across the state.
Dr. Saha shared the development on social media, writing, “Exciting collaborations ahead! Discussed potential partnership with Dr. Acharya Balkrishna, Secretary General, Patanjali Yogpeeth & team… Soon, signing an MoU to boost Tripura’s socio-economic growth.”
The state government is expected to sign a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patanjali shortly, marking a strategic step to enhance Tripura’s wellness infrastructure and economic landscape.
In another major development, the Chief Minister also participated in the 2nd High-Level Task Force meeting on North East Tourism held in Meghalaya. The meeting, chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, was attended by Union Minister of DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with several other dignitaries and tourism stakeholders.
“We deliberated on unlocking the region’s untapped tourism potential and charted strategies for sustainable tourism development across the Northeast,” Dr. Saha said after the session.
The twin initiatives underscore Tripura’s growing emphasis on eco-tourism and sustainable development, aligning with its broader vision to emerge as a gateway for nature-based tourism and holistic well-being in the Northeast.
