Agartala, 29th October 2026 : A 13-year-old boy, identified as Shantu Dutta, died after reportedly drowning in a pond near his home in Rupachhara under the 29-Krishnapur Assembly constituency of Teliamura subdivision.
According to local sources, Shantu fell into the pond while playing. He reportedly suffered from epilepsy, and it is suspected that a medical episode may have prevented him from saving himself after falling into the water.
His untimely death has plunged his family and the local community into deep grief. The tragic incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the Rupachhara area.
