Agartala, 3rd October 2025 : A 13-year-old girl of Rajnagar Housing area has allegedly been the victim of a brutal assault. The accused identified as Shankar Das, a local fish vendor has been named in the complaint filed by the minor’s mother.
According to the complaint, the girl, who reportedly referred to Shankar Das as “grandfather” was taken to an empty room by the accused in the absence of her parents. It is alleged that he forced her to consume a toxic substance, possibly to prevent her from speaking out, and then fled the scene.
Local residents discovered the girl in a severely injured state inside the room. Witnesses claim that the effects of the poisoning were so extreme that bluish smoke began emanating from her body. She was immediately rushed to GB Hospital, where she is currently battling for her life.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the accused. The community remains shaken by the gravity of the crime.
