Agartala, August 24, 2022: The BSF personnel seized seven cows on the way to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh at Barua Kandi area in Dharmanagar sub-division in the wee hours of Wednesday.

It is learned that when the soldiers of the 139th battalion of BSF were doing their routine search and patrolling, at that moment, the smugglers ran away after seeing something in the area adjacent to the Baruakandi BOP of the Indo-Bangla border.

BSF jawans rescued seven cows from the spot and brought them to BOP. Later, it is said that the cows were handed over to the Dharmanagar police station.

It should be noted that in this way criminals are constantly running smuggling trade on the Indo-Bangla border of Dharmanagar sub-division, sometimes BSF jawans are able to stop the smugglers or sometimes they fail to stop them, alleged the people living in the bordering areas.
