Agartala Aug 24: Wednesday, Tribal Students’ Union (TSU) placed deputation to the Director of Education raising various difficulties of students among which the prime allegation raised was “Attempts to ignore Kokborok language through Vidyajyoti Project”.
Because of absence of the Director of Education, the delegation of TSU met the special official on duty of Vidyajyoti project, Kajal Kumar Bhowmik and urged him to introduce Kokborok language in the state government schools especially those have been brought under the Vidyajyoti project.TSU secretary Sujit Tripura said, “The previous Left Front Govt has acknowledged the Kokborok language in schools but the BJP is trying to ignore the language and has made no attempt to introduce it in the schools”.TSU leaders however said that the officials have assured them of looking into the matter.
