Agartala, 1st September 2025; With the resonant theme “Let the eternal rhythm of theatre echo across the global stage,” the renowned theatre group Nirghosh Nikkon Natya Sanstha hosted a 15-day theatre workshop from July 12 to July 26, 2025, drawing attention from drama enthusiasts across the region.
Led by emerging Udaipur-based director Abhijit Das, the workshop centered around the development of a new theatrical production titled Titas Parer Kotha (“Tales from the Banks of Titas”). Adapted from Titas Ekti Nadir Naam, the celebrated novel by Adwaita Mallabarman, the play transcends mere storytelling to become a lyrical meditation on life, love, loss, death, and the human struggle for survival.
Characters like Basanti, Subal, and Ananta ebb and flow like the river itself—rising and receding with emotional tides. The sound of anklets merges with the rhythm of water, whispers of love dissolve into waves, and unspoken words drift away with the current. Though the curtain falls, Titas continues to flow—an eternal epic of human joy and sorrow.
The atmospheric soundscape, featuring vocals by Udaipur artists Sankarshan Ghosh, Sukanta Ghosh, and Trisha Das, is expected to heighten the emotional resonance of the production. Organizers hope the immersive musical elements will make the play both entertaining and deeply moving for audiences.
The premiere of Titas Parer Kotha is scheduled for September 14 at Unakoti Kalakshetra, marking the 28th anniversary of Nirghosh Nikkon. With promotional buzz already sweeping through Kailashahar, anticipation is high among theatre lovers eager to witness this evocative new work.
