Agartala, 1st September 2025;   Residents of West Gobindapur have long endured hardship due to a dilapidated embankment left incomplete by contractors and overlooked by the Water Resources department. The broken structure severely disrupted daily movement, especially for pedestrians and commuters.

With the festive season approaching, the Kailashahar Mandal BJP Committee stepped in to address the issue. On Monday, party members initiated repair work in Ward 10 of the local municipal council. The effort was led by Kailashahar Mandal President Pritam Ghosh, joined by BJP State Committee member and Municipal Vice Chairperson Nitish Dey, along with several workers and supporters from the Mandal and Youth Morcha wings.

In a statement, BJP representatives said they were compelled to act due to the department’s continued negligence. “To ease public movement before the Puja, we are using our own labor to make the embankment navigable. Even if the administration turns a blind eye, BJP will continue to stand by the people,” said Mandal President Pritam Ghosh.

The sight of active repairs has brought a sense of relief to the community. Residents expressed hope that, even if temporarily, the embankment will be restored enough to allow safe passage during the upcoming festivities.
