181 Nominations Valid for TTAADC Polls; Withdrawal Tomorrow

Agartala, 27th March 2026:  A total of 181 nominations have been declared valid following scrutiny for the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), slated for April 12.

Tripura State Election Commission Secretary Anurag Sen said the election process is progressing as scheduled.“The last date for filing nominations was March 25. Altogether 186 candidates filed nominations, submitting 268 nomination papers. Scrutiny was conducted across all 28 seats and completed without issues,” Sen said.

According to officials, five nominations were rejected during scrutiny on technical grounds, leaving 181 candidates in the fray.

The final list of contesting candidates will be published after the withdrawal of nominations, the deadline for which is tomorrow.

Sen also shared party-wise participation details. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Tipra Motha have fielded candidates in all 28 seats. The CPI(M) has contested 25 seats, the Congress 27, and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) 24 seats. Apart from these, candidates from the CPI and several Independents have also entered the race.

He added that no violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) have been reported so far.
