Agartala, 27th March 2026:  Amid ongoing economic challenges and global uncertainties, the Central Government has announced a significant relief measure by reducing excise duty on fuel by Rs 10.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a statement shared on social media, the Chief Minister said the move would help reduce the financial strain on millions of citizens, especially households and those dependent on the transportation sector.

He further noted that lower fuel prices are likely to have a positive cascading effect, potentially bringing down the cost of essential goods and providing broader economic relief.

Calling the decision timely and responsive to public needs, Dr. Saha said it reflects the Prime Minister’s continued focus on public welfare. On behalf of the people of Tripura and the entire North-East, he conveyed sincere appreciation for what he described as a people-centric initiative.
