Agartala, 1st August 2025 : The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) is set to hold its 18th subdivisional conference on August 9, drawing focus on justice for victims of gender-based violence and the strengthening of legal governance in the state. In anticipation of the event, women leaders organized vibrant street campaigns across the city today to raise public awareness.
The upcoming conference will spotlight several key demands, including the urgent need for swift punishment of individuals accused of crimes against women and the reinforcement of legal governance across the state. Participants will also voice strong opposition to rising taxes on essential services such as electricity, water, and gas. Additionally, there will be protests against the recent hike in Gomati dairy milk prices.
The conference will further emphasize the necessity of ending communal violence and ensuring safety and protection for women in all spheres of society.
