1st preparatory meeting for Diwali fair and festival at Tripurasundari temple held

Agartala, 18th September 2024:   A vibrant three-day Diwali fair and festival is set to light up Udaipur from October 31 to November 2. The decision was confirmed during a preparation meeting of the Diwali Mela and Utsav Committee held today at the Gomati District Administration Conference Hall.

The meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, outlined the plans and directives for the upcoming event. Minister Roy emphasized the importance of ensuring a seamless experience for students attending the fair and urged all involved to collaborate effectively to make the festival a grand success.

The festival will feature a variety of cultural programs, showcasing performances by artists both from within and outside the state. In addition to these programs, the fair will include development stalls from various departments. The Mother’s temple, a local landmark, will be adorned with festive decorations to enhance the celebratory atmosphere.

A modern lighting system will be installed throughout the fairgrounds to add to the festive ambiance. To oversee the event’s organization, a monitoring committee has been formed, with MLA Abhishek Debroy serving as its chairman.

Today’s meeting was attended by several key figures, including Gomati Zilla Parishad Chairman Deval Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumder, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Sheetal Chandra Majumder, District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, Gomati Superintendent of Police Ratiranjan Debnath, and representatives from various departments.
