2023 Poll: CPIM holds state committee meeting

Agartala: Aug 25. The opposition CPIM today held its state committee meeting at their party office at Melarmath in which a slew of decisions were taken including setting up agendas for the upcoming elections including Village Committee which will be take place by the end of this year and Assembly poll that will be take place in 2023.

During the meeting CPIM general secretary of CPIM Sitaram Yechuri, former general secretary and politburo Prakash Karat, leader of opposition and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, CPIM state committee secretary Jitendra Choudhury, deputy leader of opposition Badal Chowdhury, AIKS Secretary Pabitra Kar, GMP leader Aghore Debbarma, Left Front convener Narayan Kar and other leaders and MLAs were present.

Sources from the party said that in the meeting the CPIM leaders have mainly focused on the election.

“As the election is approaching today in the meeting we have mainly focused on the election strategies. Our senior leaders including Sitaram Yechuri, Prakash Karat attended the meeting. They have given many ideas and tactics and also made a blue print for the upcoming elections”, the source said.

The source further said that in the meeting many strategies were fixed on the upcoming election as the situation is not conducive for peaceful poll.
